The photo to the
left is a view of the tower site clearing just before we dug
the holes for the concrete. The process of clearing
this area took approximately 3 weeks. Doing the work
myself saved a considerable amount of money. |
| After digging the anchor holes,
rebar cages were constructed and installed in the 3 anchor
holes. A rough concrete form will need to be made to
help contain the concrete to a reasonable size. In
better soil a smaller hole can be constructed, thus
eliminating the need for a concrete form. |

Once the concrete
forms are constructed around the rebar frames, the 10 foot
long anchor rods provided with the Bergey 10kw tower kit are
installed within the rebar cage. The orientation of
the anchor rod needs to be at a 45 degree angle with the eye
of the rod in a perpendicular orientation. This
orientation is critical, and needs to be maintained while
the concrete sets up for proper guy wire orientation. |
